CEO of Binance cryptocurrency exchange Changpeng Zhao (CZ) spoke out on media reports of the resignation of executives due to an investigation by the US Department of Justice.
According to Fortune, several top executives left the firm this week. They include chief strategy officer Patrick Hillmann, senior vice president of compliance Stephen Christie and general counsel Han Ng.
Patrick Hillmann officially confirmed your care.
“It is true that I am leaving Binance, but I am doing so on good terms. I continue to respect and support CZ and am grateful for the incredible opportunity to work under him,” wrote the former top manager.
Zhao said that the reasons given by the press for leaving top managers are “completely wrong.” According to him, what is happening is the usual staff turnover.
“We thank all former members of our team for their contribution to the growth of the company and wish them all the best. We also congratulate our team members who have matured into new roles,” Zhao said.
He added that apart from the director of strategy this week, no one left the company.
Recall that on June 5, the US Securities and Exchange Commission filed a lawsuit against Binance. In March, a similar lawsuit against the exchange was filed by the US Commodity Futures Trading Commission.
Earlier, the media learned about disagreements in the US Department of Justice on charges against the management of the exchange.
