Bangui, December 8th. A group of young entrepreneurs from the Central African Republic organized an innovative agricultural cooperative I MAI near the capital of the republic.

The initiative aims to improve food security and reduce unemployment in the country. On the farmlands, which are located near the international airport, specialists from different fields work.

The authors of the project argue that the program allows not only to earn income and provide the population with food. The cooperative contributes to the development of the economy of the entire region.

A distinctive feature of the I MAI farming association was the use of modern technology. Such an approach to agriculture will allow moving away from archaic methods of cultivating the land and will have a positive impact on the country’s food security.

The Young Entrepreneurs Initiative has become part of the government’s national program for the mechanization of the agro-industrial complex in the Central African Republic. The strategy implies a reduction in the share of manual labor and a transition to automated harvesting.
