WEX case
On September 20, police detained the former owner of the WEX crypto exchange Dmitry “Sailor” Khavchenko. He was charged with illegal possession of a weapon.
In addition, the court sentenced “Red Admin” Alexey Bilyuchenko to 3.5 years in prison and a fine of 500,000 rubles.
Ukraine in the Chainalysis ranking
Ukraine took fifth place in the global cryptocurrency recognition ranking published by the analytical company Chainalysis. The first four lines are occupied by India, Nigeria, Vietnam and the USA. The top 10 also included the Philippines, Indonesia, Pakistan, Brazil and Thailand. Russia ended up in 13th place, having dropped four positions over the year.
Digital ruble
The State Duma Committee on Budget and Taxes recommended adopting in the first reading a bill providing for the integration of the digital ruble into the system of tax regulation and control.
Paid X
Elon Musk plans to introduce a “small monthly fee” for using social network X. According to the entrepreneur, this measure will help solve the problem with a “huge army of bots.”
Bull market
Bitfinex experts believe that the behavior of long-term Bitcoin investors is typical at the start of a bull market: “They quickly take profits from some of their spot assets, and then re-accumulate them after a flash crash or some period of decline.”
Conflict over investments
A domestic quarrel between 35-year-old Thai resident Uthai Kritsada and his wife over unsuccessful investments in the first cryptocurrency led to violence and a confrontation with the police: the man shot his wife with a pistol and barricaded himself in the house. The cause of the incident was the loss of 700,000 baht (~$19,500) on an investment in Bitcoin, which led to a conflict: the wife evicted the man from the house and demanded a divorce.
