Weekly inflation in Russia slowed down to 0.12%

The rise in consumer prices in Russia from June 8 to June 15 amounted to 0.12%, follows from the data of Rosstat. Most of all rose in price for carrots (+ 10.2%), potatoes (+ 7%) and cabbage (4.4%). A week earlier, inflation was at 0.16%.

Some food products in the country fell in price: eggs (-4.4%), cucumbers (-5.5%) and tomatoes (-4.9%).

In Russia, budget-level resort vacations continued to rise in price. Prices for accommodation in 1-2-star hotels increased by 1.4% and 1.0%, respectively, in hostels – by 1.3%. Vouchers to sanatoriums went up by 0.8%, rest homes, boarding houses – by 0.7%.

Since the beginning of June, inflation has made 0.28%, since the beginning of the year – 3.77%.

The Central Bank expects a decrease in annual inflation in the country in the fourth quarter. Deputy Chairman of the regulator Alexei Zabotkin said that inflation will be “on a plateau” until autumn. On June 15, in order to combat rising prices, the Central Bank raised the key rate in Russia to 5.5% per annum.
