Vučić said that a state of emergency was actually introduced in Serbia due to the global energy crisis

Serbia in the next eight months will have a hard time living in a state of emergency (state of emergency), President Aleksandar Vučić said on Thursday, July 28, in an interview with TV Pink, pointing to the consequences of the global energy crisis.

“We will do everything to overcome the crisis. Today I had a long talk with the head of government, with the finance minister. For us, these eight months, from August to March 31, will be one of the most difficult,” he said.

Vučić also noted that the Serbian budget is barely able to cover additional costs in energy supply, social sphere and others. He specified that Belgrade’s new three-year contract with Gazprom allows buying gas at a price of $350-370 per thousand cubic meters. At this price, the country buys 2 billion cubic meters. m of gas per year, another 1 billion cubic meters. m – at the market price.

“We have allocated €560 million for this. This is a lot of money. I say this so that people understand how difficult it is, ”Gazeta.Ru quotes Vucic as saying.

The Serbian leader also mentioned the cost of electricity, which has reached a record price in the European market – €540 per kilowatt-hour.

“Our people pay about €40. 14 times less than the Germans. As a state, we have taken on almost all the difficulties,” he stressed.

At the end of June, Vučić stated that the country’s demand for natural gas (NG) was met by 62%. This was achieved thanks to the signing of an agreement with the Russian corporation Gazprom.
