The preliminary cause of death of a seventh-grader from St. Petersburg could be a rare genetic disease. This was stated by the Vice-Governor of St. Petersburg Irina Potekhina.
This disease is detected only with a deep medical examination that goes beyond the scope of school medical examination. According to the vice-governor, a number of additional studies should be carried out for the final conclusion of the pathoanatomical examination.
“Preliminarily, the cause of the death of the child is called a genetic disease, which medicine has not yet learned how to treat, and the symptoms of which the child did not show,” Potekhina explained.
Earlier it was reported that the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation opened a criminal case on the fact of the sudden death of a schoolgirl. The perpetrators will have to answer under the article “Causing death by negligence due to improper performance of their duties.”
