The Novosibirsk center “Vector” plans to apply for certification of the Russian vaccine against the coronavirus “EpiVacCorona” at the headquarters of the World Health Organization (WHO), said TASS director of the center Rinat Maksyutov.
“Vector plans to apply for vaccine approval with WHO. But this is directly tied to the issue of vaccine export. And now for us the priority is to satisfy domestic demand, to protect the population of the Russian Federation. Therefore, at present this issue is not so urgent, ”said Mr. Maksyutov on the sidelines of the educational marathon“ New Knowledge ”.
According to Mr. Maksyutov, the center has received more than 100 applications from abroad for the supply of EpiVacCorona.
EpiVacCorona is the second COVID-19 vaccine in Russia. It was registered on October 14, 2020. In December, the drug entered civilian circulation.
