US Presidential Candidate Expresses Commitment to Bitcoin

The nephew of the 35th President of the United States and a participant in the current election race, Robert Francis Kennedy Jr., promised to defend the right of citizens to freely own and use the first cryptocurrency.

“Bitcoin is not only a bulwark against totalitarianism and manipulation of our money supply, it points the way to a future in which state institutions will be more transparent and democratic,” the politician said.

Kennedy wants not only to legalize digital gold, but also to introduce it into the daily lives of US citizens. Earlier, he promised to make decisions that “support bitcoin and freedom of transactions, allowing people to manage their wallets, nodes and passwords.”

According to his campaign promises, the country will create a simple regulatory environment, providing only “strict control to prevent money laundering.”

In April, Kennedy said that bitcoin and other digital assets are an alternative to the traditional financial system.

The presidential candidate also opposes the digital dollar. In his opinion, technology is “the supreme mechanism of social monitoring and control.”

In May, Kennedy began accepting donations in the first cryptocurrency and, during the Bitcoin 2023 conference, called it “a symbol of democracy and freedom.” In addition, he criticized US regulators for the “war on cryptocurrencies” that led to a banking crisis in the country.

Recall that in June, Coinbase CEO Brian Armstrong called the upcoming US elections a key moment for crypto regulation.

Earlier, support for Robert Francis Kennedy Jr. was expressed by the head of Block Jack Dorsey.
