The US delegation will traditionally become the largest at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF), said Deputy Prime Minister Andrei Belousov. He did not list the number of participants from the United States. He estimated the total foreigners on the forum at 2 thousand people.
“It seems to me that the tougher the rhetoric and the steeper the sanctions, the more people come. We have some kind of regularity, apparently, it is interesting to see how they are coping here, ”said Mr. Belousov to RBC. In his opinion, business is worried that politics may “break relations.” “Because politics changes along with politicians, but business relations are built over the years,” the Deputy Prime Minister added.
More than 200 people will arrive from Qatar, which is a partner of the forum, more than 100 from China and Germany. Mr. Belousov said that “a lot of people will come” from Great Britain, France and Italy. More than 1.2 thousand companies will take part in the business part of the program. The Deputy Prime Minister claims that the number of participants has to be limited due to the requirement of Rospotrebnadzor for a daily one-time admission of no more than 5 thousand people.
This year, the SPIEF Forum will take place from 2 to 5 June in face-to-face format at the Expoforum Exhibition and Convention Center. Tickets cost from 840 thousand to 960 thousand rubles. A more expensive ticket gives you the right to participate in the plenary session. Ticket prices have increased up to 2.4 times compared to 2019.
