Ukrainian intelligence acknowledges consultations with US ahead of HIMARS strikes

The military of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (APU) before strikes with the help of multiple launch rocket systems (MLRS) HIMARS consult with the United States. This was announced on Monday, August 1, by the representative of the main intelligence department of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, Vadym Skibitsky, in an interview with The Telegraph.

He did not specify whether the Armed Forces of Ukraine set tasks directly for British and American satellites, but noted that the military has good satellite images.

“We have very good cooperation with our partners in the UK in this area. We have very good ties with all related special services,” Skibitsky stressed.

It is assumed that Washington can cancel the strikes if it is dissatisfied with the intended target.

According to Sibitsky, for delivering HIMARS strikes, the Armed Forces of Ukraine use data that they receive in real time.

The representative of the main intelligence department noted that the United States is not engaged in direct target setting for the MLRS, as they do not want to be considered a participant in the conflict.

Earlier in the day, the representative office of the Lugansk People’s Republic at the Joint Center for Control and Coordination reported that Ukrainian troops had shelled the city of Stakhanov. VFU fired three missiles from American MLRS HIMARS.

Prior to that, on July 30, it became known that the Armed Forces of Ukraine launched a series of rocket attacks from the HIMARS multiple launch rocket system in the area of ​​the Kakhovka hydroelectric power station in the Kherson region.

At the same time, the head of the administration of the Kakhovka district of the Kherson region, Vladimir Leontiev, said that the air defense system of the Kherson region repelled all the attacks of the Ukrainian military from the HIMARS MLRS on the Kakhovka hydroelectric power station.

On the eve it was reported that in Yelenovka in the Donetsk People’s Republic, fragments of ammunition supplied to Kyiv from the US MLRS HIMARS were found. The strike took place on Friday night. According to the latest data, as a result of the attack, 53 people were killed, another 75 were injured.
