Two intruders set fire to relay cabinets on the Zorinsky-Trofimovsky-2 railway line in Saratov. Law enforcement officers have already detained the hooligans and opened a criminal case against them, writes the Shot Telegram channel.
The locomotive driver saw a fire next to the railway tracks – two relay cabinets were burning. It turned out that the equipment was partially damaged, and the indicators began to transmit information about the derailment of the rolling stock. It is noted that the officer on duty regulated traffic by radio, thanks to which train delays were avoided. As a result of the incident, no one was injured.
The defendants fully confessed to their deed. In the hands of law enforcement officers were two men aged 56 and 42, respectively. The latter was brought to criminal responsibility three times in the past – for car theft, causing grievous bodily harm and murder. In the third case, the man was convicted in 2002 in St. Petersburg and sentenced to 17 years in prison in a strict regime colony.
Those guilty of a crime will have to answer before the law under Article 167 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (“Deliberate destruction of another’s property”). The motives of the arsonists are being established.
