Employees of the Volgograd State traffic inspectorate faced an unusual situation. The driver approached them and said that his wife had given birth in the car.
The man did not know what to do in a difficult situation and asked for help. The inspectors realized that due to traffic jams typical for this time of day, it would not be possible for a Volgograd citizen to quickly deliver his wife to the maternity hospital, the RIAC online publication reports. Then they decided to accompany the couple’s car to the medical facility.
The police reported the incident to the duty unit, then turned on the lights and siren and went to the city hospital. In the perinatal department, the outfit handed over the woman in labor to the doctors. Assistance was provided in a timely manner: already seven minutes after the arrival, the woman gave birth to a boy. The traffic inspectors were the first to congratulate the happy father.
