Three Russian TV channels to stop broadcasting in Belarus

Belarus has excluded three Russian TV channels from the list of permitted distribution – KINOMIKS, KHL TV channel and Russian Night. They will stop broadcasting on the territory of the republic.

According to the Belarusian Ministry of Information, the KINOMIKS and KHL channels were not extended their broadcasting licenses due to their violations of the law on advertising in the documents submitted for obtaining the permission. Representatives of the “Russian Night” did not apply for a new permit.

“In accordance with the current legislation, the validity period of a permit for the distribution of products of a foreign mass media on the territory of the Republic of Belarus without changing the form or content is three years from the date of its issuance,” the ministry said.
