The websites of the world’s largest media and Internet services crashed

The websites of the Financial Times, The New York Times, Bloomberg News, CNN, WSJ and other major media outlets were unavailable. There were also problems with access to sites Amazon, Spotify, Twitch, Reddit, Stackoverflow, GitHub, PayPal and other services. The failure did not affect the operation of Russian sites and services, according to data from Downdetector.

The British newspaper The Guardian explained to Reuters that its website and app have been hit by an extensive internet outage and will resume their work as soon as possible. Also, the UK government website gov.uk stopped working from the shutdown.

Financial Times product manager Matt Taylor told Techcrunch that the outage was due to an accident on the Fastly side of the CDN. Fastly has confirmed an outage on its website.
