The chief forecaster of St. Petersburg, Alexander Kolesov, explained why the mushrooms disappeared from the forests of the Leningrad region. He wrote about this on Thursday, August 4, in his Telegram channel.

According to the expert, “the forest is resting after two successive mushroom years.” He said that he was picking mushrooms in the Lomonosov region, and there were almost none there.

Kolesov advised local residents “to save last year’s stocks, who still have them,” notes 78.ru. At the same time, he noted that “it’s too early to get upset.”

Earlier, on July 11, it was reported that chanterelles can already be found in the St. Petersburg forests. However, at the same time it was noted that there were still few other mushrooms.
