On September 6, President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev signed amendments to legislation, including licensing mining.

“Into the laws […] additions and changes are being made to provide for the establishment of new types and subtypes of licensed activities (crypto exchange, mining pool, crypto depository and crypto store) and mining activities,” the message says.

The National Agency for Advanced Projects (NAPP) will be responsible for licensing activities related to crypto assets. Upon receipt of permission, legal entities are required to pay a state fee.

The fine for operating without a license as a crypto service provider is 300 BRV (about $8,150). For mining activities without permission – 150 BRV (~$4075).

Let us remind you that in June NAPP issued the first license for the operation of a crypto depository to Lockton Hub.

In August, the regulator approved the operation of the C-BASE crypto store. In the same month, commercial banks Ravnaq Bank and Kapital Bank were allowed to participate in the digital sandbox with the ability to issue cryptocurrency cards.
