The Ministry of Energy is considering possible agreements on freezing fuel prices

The Ministry of Energy is considering the feasibility of concluding agreements with oil companies to freeze fuel prices. This was announced by the deputy head of the department Pavel Sorokin.

“In addition to the damper, the ministry has already implemented a number of stabilizing measures on behalf of Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak. Now, on his behalf, the feasibility of concluding agreements with oilmen on fuel prices is being worked out, this order will be fulfilled on time, ”the words of Mr. Sorokin are quoted on the website of the Ministry of Energy.

According to the deputy minister, the department continues to monitor the situation in the fuel market. “The adjustment of the damper mechanism that took place on May 1 has already positively affected the profitability of the fuel sector, contributing to the preservation of price dynamics at gas stations within inflation during the period of volatility in the world oil and oil products market, as well as normal profitability of the retail business of independent market players,” he said.

The adjusted damper mechanism in the oil industry began to work on May 1. The issue of damper adjustment arose after the increase in fuel prices at the beginning of the year. In March, the government decided to lower the indicative price, thereby increasing the amount of payments to oil companies.
