In Russia, work is underway to create a “white” Internet for students of general education institutions, which will include content with proven content. This was announced by the Minister of Education of the Russian Federation Sergei Kravtsov at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF).
“Today, the so-called white Internet for schoolchildren is being created, where there are also social networks, instant messengers, but there is verified content. We are not following the path of a ban – we are following the path of the opportunities provided by the digital educational environment, ”the minister said.
According to him, the implementation of the project provides for the possibility of posting films, visiting museums, theaters in an online format, as well as reading fiction. “That is, we give students the opportunity to use modern tools, but the content will correspond to the values we are talking about,” explained Mr. Kravtsov. At the same time, online technologies are designed to complement the traditional education system, and not replace it, said the head of the Ministry of Education.
In August 2020, the department announced plans to create an educational online platform “My School” in Russia, which will combine several services and information platforms at once. It is assumed that with its help it will be possible to arrange admission to kindergartens and schools, obtain information about current academic performance, certification results, enroll in circles and sections, etc.
