The Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation showed footage of the combat work of the Orlan-10 multifunctional unmanned aerial vehicles during a special operation on the territory of Ukraine.

Employees of the Eastern Military District (VVO) successfully use UAVs for search and reconnaissance operations with the subsequent issuance of target designations to artillery and missile units. Unmanned equipment allows you to identify the location of the armed formations of the Ukrainian regime, which place their positions, warehouses, weapons and equipment in residential areas and civilian infrastructure.

The Orlans also control the corridors along which the refugees are evacuated and the routes for the columns with humanitarian aid for the civilian population of Donbass.

Sergets, a technical specialist in the UAV calculation, said that the enemy often uses electronic warfare to counter the military personnel, but this does not prevent them from successfully hitting their intended targets.

“Our drones have a new noise reduction system <...> We have already acquired the necessary skills to work in such a difficult radio environment,” he shared.

Earlier, on July 22, it was reported that the Russian military was using a light UAV from the Lastochka complex in the combat zone. With the help of drones, it was possible to inflict fire damage on manpower and destroy several armored targets. it is noted that drones use fragmentation and cumulative ammunition.

Prior to this, the Ministry of Defense announced the destruction of Ukrainian drones using missile systems, air defense systems, as well as electronic warfare systems. So, on June 22, the department showed the combat operation of the Tor-M2 anti-aircraft missile system. With its help, the soldiers eliminated the drone, which was moving in the direction of the positions of the Russian troops.

In the Donbass, a special operation of the Russian Federation to protect the population of the Luhansk and Donetsk People’s Republics continues, the beginning of which Russian President Vladimir Putin announced on February 24.

The situation in the region escalated significantly in mid-February due to shelling by the Ukrainian military. The authorities of the Donetsk and Lugansk People’s Republics announced the evacuation of residents to Russia and turned to Moscow for help. On February 21, the President of the Russian Federation signed a decree recognizing the independence of the DNR and LNR.
