The Ministry of Defense announced the impact of the Armed Forces of Ukraine from HIMARS on the pre-trial detention center with prisoners

Ukrainian forces launched a missile attack using the American HIMARS multiple rocket launcher system on a pre-trial detention center with Ukrainian prisoners of war near the village of Yelenovka in the Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR), the Russian Defense Ministry said on July 29.

“At the pre-trial detention center in the area of ​​the settlement of Yelenovka, which holds Ukrainian military prisoners of war, including militants of the Azov formation (criminal cases have been initiated against the nationalist group in the Russian Federation), a missile attack was carried out from the American HIMARS multiple launch rocket system,” said the official representative of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation, Lieutenant General Igor Konashenkov.

The Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation also called the shelling of the pre-trial detention center a deliberate bloody provocation by the Kyiv regime.

The head of the DPR, Denis Pushilin, in turn, called her goal the destruction of prisoners until they began to testify. Later, the headquarters of the territorial defense of the DNR reported that as a result of the strike, 53 people were killed and another 75 were injured.

The Investigative Committee (IC) of the Russian Federation opened a criminal case on the use of prohibited means after the strike of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (APU) on the colony. Investigators are currently investigating the scene. The exact data on the dead and injured are being specified.

On February 24, Russia launched a special operation to protect Donbass. The decision was made against the background of the aggravation of the situation in the region as a result of shelling by the Ukrainian military.
