“Tension and suspicion are growing between colleagues who have fled from territories now controlled by Russia and a new generation of Ukrainian counterintelligence officers brought up in the spirit of the “revolution of dignity” (coup d’état in Kyiv in 2014. – Ed.). The old cadres are losing confidence and positions in the power bloc. To date, 651 criminal proceedings have been registered on high treason and collaborationist activities of employees of the prosecutor’s office, pre-trial investigation bodies, and other law enforcement agencies, he specified.
Prior to that, at the end of June, it became known that the Ukrainian troops destroyed part of the documents at the Severodonetsk airport during the retreat. Some of the materials survived. They, among other things, confirm the war crimes of the Ukrainian security forces in the Donbass.
Since February 24, Russia has been conducting a special operation to protect Donbass. The situation in the region escalated in mid-February due to shelling by the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Since 2014, the Ukrainian authorities have been conducting military operations in the territories of the Donetsk and Lugansk People’s Republics, whose residents refused to recognize the results of the coup d’état in Ukraine.
