In the first six months of 2023, the influx of digital assets into illegal services decreased by 65%. It is reported by Chainalysis.

Experts noted a decrease in the total volume of transactions, but for legitimate services, the deviation is less serious – 28%.

Inflows to “criminal” addresses declined in almost all directions, with the main decline occurring in the “fraud” category.

From January to June, cryptocams earned almost $3.3 billion less than in 2022. The most active area is ransomware, the criminals have earned $449.1 million in this way since the beginning of the year.

“If this pace continues, ransomware will net $898.6 million in 2023, trailing only $939.9 million in 2021,” the analysts said.

Recall, Beosin experts reported that in the first half of 2023, the digital asset sector lost about $655.6 million as a result of hacker attacks, fraud and rug pull.

According to Immunefi, the number of crypto project hacks has increased by 63%. In the second quarter of 2023, the number of such incidents reached 81.
