More than 1.8 billion rubles. will be redistributed from the budget to complete the construction of hospitals in several regions of the Russian Federation. The corresponding order was signed by Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin.

The government expects that this will help to quickly put into operation a number of facilities under construction. Among them are children’s and oncological hospitals in the Kaliningrad, Samara, Ulyanovsk, Yaroslavl, Smolensk and Penza regions, as well as in the Republics of Komi and Tyva and the Trans-Baikal Territory.

In general, more than 80 billion rubles are provided for the completion of medical institutions in the budget for the next three years, the government’s press service added.

At the end of 2020, the regions spent only one fifth of the funds allocated by the federal budget for drug insurance programs for patients with cardiovascular diseases. The amount of unclaimed money turned out to be so great that the Ministry of Health proposed to extend the period for issuing drugs to beneficiaries from a year to two.
