The court rejected the claim of the daughter of director Mark Zakharov against the Lenkom Theater

On October 4, the Tverskoy Court of Moscow dismissed the suit of the daughter of director Mark Zakharov, actress Alexandra Zakharova, against the Lenkom Theater, the Izvestia correspondent was told in court.

“The Tverskoy District Court of Moscow ruled to dismiss the claims of Alexandra Markovna Zakharova against the State Budgetary Institution of Culture of the City of Moscow on the obligation to provide reports on the use of the results of intellectual activity, orders, contracts, on the basis of which performances were staged,” the court reported. .

As it became known, Zakharova went to court on the basis that she believes that the copyright for her father’s performances belongs only to her. The actress wanted to challenge the rights to the performances of “Memorial Prayer”, “Crazy Day or The Marriage of Figaro”, “Royal Games” and others.

In addition, the director’s daughter claimed that the Lenkom Theater did not have the right to restore and stage the play “Memorial Prayer” without her consent.

Mark Zakharov has been the artistic director of the Lenkom Theater for over 40 years. Zakharov died on September 28, 2019, two weeks before his 86th birthday. He was buried at the Novodevichy Cemetery in Moscow next to Oleg Tabakov, Stanislav Govorukhin and Leonid Bronev.
