Research: the average limit on credit cards in February reached a record 92.03 thousand rubles
The average limit on credit cards in Russia in February jumped by 8.6% in annual terms and reached a record 92.03 thousand rubles, calculated for RIA Novosti in the company “Scoring Bureau”.
According to the company, 1.4 million credit cards were issued in the last month of winter, down 9.7% from the same period last year. At the same time, the amount of loans in annual terms decreased by 1.9% – to 129.4 billion rubles.

As a result, the credit card portfolio at the end of February 2023 reached 1.8 trillion rubles, which is 36.6% more than at the end of February last year.
According to the company, credit cards were most in demand in Moscow, where the limit on cards issued in February was 10.7 billion rubles, the Moscow region (6.7 billion rubles), St. Petersburg (4.5 billion rubles), Krasnodar Territory ( 3.5 billion rubles) and the Tyumen region (3.3 billion rubles).
At the same time, an improvement in the level of “bad” overdue debt on credit cards was recorded in February: over the year, the indicator decreased by 0.51 percentage points and amounted to 5.57%.
