MOSCOW, 16 Jan – Almost 4 billion rubles are provided in the coming years for the creation of a digital ecosystem of the Northern Sea Route, which will combine all electronic services for participants in the logistics market, declared Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin.
“The government has taken additional decisions to ensure year-round navigation in the Arctic, approved the rules for providing subsidies for the creation of the digital ecosystem of the Northern Sea Route. And for this, almost 4 billion rubles are provided in the federal budget for the current and next years,” Mishustin said at a meeting with vice-president prime ministers.
According to him, the creation of an “ice navigator” will provide up-to-date data on weather conditions, the location of ships and the workload of ports, as well as logistics services, including issuing permits for the passage of ships, monitoring, dispatching, fleet management.
The development of the program is planned to be completed by mid-2025.
In addition, as the prime minister said, the Cabinet of Ministers will allocate more than 3.5 billion rubles to deepen the water area of ​​the port “Bukhta Sever” at the mouth of the Yenisei. Part of the funds will go to the creation of navigation safety systems, which will allow ships carrying more than 120,000 tons of payload.
According to the Cabinet of Ministers, this will allow increasing the volume of cargo transportation along the NSR by 80 million tons by 2024.
