The looming global financial crisis will cause the dollar and the euro to lose their positions in the global financial system. This forecast was shared by the head of Rosneft Igor Sechin during his speech at the SPIEF.
Sechin suggested that rapid changes in existing settlement systems could lead to the formation of new global reserve currencies. This stage must inevitably come sooner or later.
“This process is irreversible and in the future will lead to a change in the geography of world trade,” said the head of the corporation.
The St. Petersburg International Economic Forum ended on June 18. The event brought together more than 14 thousand guests from more than 120 countries.
