Russia’s GDP in April grew by 10.7% in annual terms

Russia’s GDP growth in April amounted to 10.7% in annual terms, said the head of the Ministry of Economy Maxim Reshetnikov. According to Rosstat, Russia’s GDP in the first quarter decreased by 1% yoy.

“Russia’s GDP growth amounted to 10.7% in April year-on-year,” Mr. Reshetnikov told reporters on the sidelines of the SPIEF (quoted by TASS).

The day before, Mr. Reshetnikov announced that he expects the Russian economy to recover to the level of the fourth quarter of 2019 in June-July 2021. According to him, when compared with the average for 2019, “by and large” the economy recovered already in April.
