Russians began to spend less on housing and communal services

    The cost of housing and communal services in April in Russia decreased by 14%. About this with reference to analysts at Otkritie FC Bank informs RIA News.

    Experts noted that most of all, by 34%, in April, the spending of Russians on heat supply fell. While the cost of gas increased by 10%, and electricity – by 1%. Compared with March, the check for housing and communal services expenses decreased by 10%, and in average annual terms by 14%.

    In Russia offered to freeze housing and communal services tariffs

    Analysts expressed the opinion that the reduction in housing and communal services in April could be due to the savings of Russians, including through the installation of meters. But analysts attribute the increase in electricity and gas charges to rising tariffs.

    “Rambler” wrote that earlier a member of the Social Committee of the Federation Council, Sergei Leonov, proposed freezing tariffs for gas and electricity for the population this year. He explained the need for such a measure by a decrease in the income of Russians due to the crisis caused by the coronavirus pandemic.
