Arsenal Tula football player Alexey Pomerko became a victim of a swindler while trying to buy cryptocurrency. This was reported by the SHOT Telegram channel.
According to available information, Pomerko asked his friend, ex-footballer of the youth and youth national teams of the Russian Federation Vyacheslav Dmitriev, to carry out the deal.
The first operation for $10,000 was successful. Dmitriev handed over the money to the seller, who transferred it to a crypto wallet and showed a screenshot of the deposit being credited.
However, during the second meeting, when the football player’s friend already transferred $24,500, the money never arrived in Pomerko’s wallet.
Dmitriev contacted the police. The damage is estimated at almost 2.3 million rubles at the exchange rate at the time of the transaction.
Law enforcement officers are looking for the car the seller was driving.
