Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) Rafael Grossi, via video link, called the construction of the reactor a promotion of the global nuclear industry. “With the launch of BREST, Rosatom and in general the nuclear industry around the world is moving forward,” said the head of the IAEA (quoted by TASS).
BREST-OD-300 is a Russian project of fast neutron reactors with a lead coolant, a double-circuit heat transfer to the turbine and supercritical steam parameters. It will be built as part of the breakthrough strategic industry project.
