Ukrainian troops suffer heavy losses in the southern direction. This is evidenced by the negotiations of the fighters of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU), the record of which is at the disposal of RIA Novosti.
“Will there be support at all? They ask me. There are no people, communications – too, there are few cartridges, ”said one fighter.
Servicemen of the 5th mechanized company of the 53rd brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, based near the village of Pravdino, Kherson region, transmitted information by radio about a large number of wounded and killed.
“If we stay overnight, in the morning we will again (they will shell. – Ed.). It needs some kind of support in the morning or at night. Or we take 300 (wounded. – Ed.) heavy, because they will not survive, and we ourselves here (not. – Ed.) will survive the night, and go back. Somehow we try, we take out, we crawl, ”added another military man.
Another fighter on the radio listed the wounded – their call signs and condition. At the same time, in response, he received information about the expired stocks of ammunition.
Earlier, on September 22, the deputy head of the administration of the Kherson region, Kirill Stremousov, said that the Ukrainian militants had lost their offensive ability and striking power in the Kherson direction. According to the Russian Ministry of Defense, all their attempts at a counteroffensive are repelled by Russian troops, and the Ukrainian side suffers heavy losses.
The Kherson region came under the control of the Russian military in mid-March during a special operation to protect the Donbass, which President Vladimir Putin announced on February 24. The decision was made against the background of the aggravated situation in the region after shelling by Ukrainian troops. On September 30, Russian President Vladimir Putin, after summing up the results of the referendums, signed decrees on joining the Kherson region along with the LDNR, as well as Zaporozhye, into Russia.
