President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin during his speech at the anniversary St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF), he initiated a reduction in the rate on preferential mortgages to 7%. The Russian leader emphasized that the term of the preferential mortgage program after the rate cut will continue until the end of the year.

Member of the State Duma, Honored Artist of RussiaElena Drapeko in conversation with a correspondent FAN agreed with the president’s proposal, since such a decision would help hundreds of thousands of Russians to buy their own housing.

“In his speech, the president touched upon both macroeconomic and business problems. But the social component of the economic policy of the state is especially important for us. Therefore, Vladimir Putin’s statement about lowering the mortgage rate to 7% aroused particular interest. This is the measure that will help hundreds of thousands of our citizens improve their living conditions. This is especially true for young families and beneficiaries who need unconditional assistance. We welcome this decision and will support it at the level of the State Duma,” Drapeko commented.

The MP also noted that it is necessary to pay attention to those people who cannot afford a mortgage. According to her, that is why the Just Russia – Patriots – For Truth party is in favor of expanding the construction of social housing, which will belong to municipalities and constituent entities of the Russian Federation. This measure will provide a roof over their heads for people whose incomes do not allow them to take out a mortgage loan even at the lowest rate.
