Real incomes of Russians predicted a fall

The real income of Russians in the second quarter of 2020 may fall by 18 percent compared to the same period in 2019, even taking into account the implementation of anti-crisis measures to support the population. This is evidenced by the forecast of the Center for Development Institute of the Higher School of Economics, the content of which is given by RBC owned by Grigory Berezkin.

According to the forecast of economists, the real incomes of the population following the results of 2020 may decrease by 8.2 percent in the base case and by 12.1 percent in the pessimistic one.

Without anti-crisis support measures, real disposable incomes of the population could collapse in the second quarter of 2020 by 21.8 percent in annual terms. However, state support of the population can reduce this drop by 3.8 percent, experts predicted.

At the same time, it is expected that 12.5 percent of Russians will lose their jobs, the same proportion will receive half of the previous earnings.

Earlier it became known that every fifth Russian citizen (19 percent) who works for hire, reported a decrease in salaries and other payments since the beginning of April. Compared with the beginning of April, the number of Russians worried about a decrease in salaries was 10 percentage points more. At the same time, private sector employees talk about lower incomes more often (22 percent) than state employees (17 percent).
