The European Union is preparing to disconnect Moscow Credit Bank (MCB) and Rosselkhozbank from the SWIFT payment system, Politico reports. It is also reported that the next package of anti-Russian sanctions may include new restrictive measures against Sberbank.

The sources add that the EU plans to impose sanctions on oil trade with Russia. It is assumed that the bans in this area will not come into effect earlier than six months later.

Western countries continue to increase sanctions pressure on the Russian Federation after the start of a special operation in Ukraine. The bulk of the restrictions concerns the financial sector.
