Russian employers are not sure how their business will develop until the end of 2022, and cannot yet determine a short-term personnel strategy. Such a conclusion can be drawn from the study of the recruitment company Ventra “Labor Market Challenges 2022: the view of employees and employers.” As follows from the results of the survey (more than 500 respondents), in the first half of 2022, 45% of employers were forced to lay off staff due to transformation or shutdown business. 29% said they did not make decisions to reduce the number of employees, 9% – about active hiring. Employees themselves assessed the situation in a similar way – 32% reported that the status of their work in 2022 did not change, 15% lost their jobs, 12% faced a change in work duties and income. At the same time, commenting on plans for the coming months, only 6% of employers spoke about plans to increase the number of employees, 12%, on the contrary, plan to reduce.
