Oslo regrets story with consulate employee in Murmansk

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Norway has expressed deep regret in connection with the act of the employee of the Norwegian consulate in Murmansk on administrative issues, Elisabeth Ellingsen.

Earlier, the diplomat made a scandal in one of the Russian hotels, swearing at the hotel workers, while stating that she “hates Russians.”

The Norwegian Foreign Ministry assured TASS that the country does not share Ellingsen’s feelings towards the Russian people.

“The ministry is working through the incident through the appropriate channels,” said Rones Bogsnes, spokeswoman for the Norwegian Foreign Ministry Tuva.

Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said Russian diplomats are considering options for responding to this “outrageous act of hatred, nationalism and xenophobia.”
