One of the victims in the Arashukov case filed a claim for 9.5 million rubles

One of the victims in the case of Rauf and Raul Arashukov, the brother of the deceased public figure of the Karachay-Cherkess Republic (ChKR) Murat Shebzukhov, filed a civil lawsuit in the amount of more than 9.5 million rubles. On Tuesday, October 4, the Izvestia correspondent reports from the courtroom.

Shebzukhov sent a lawsuit to the court by mail. It was announced at a meeting of the Moscow City Court during the discussion of the legal consequences of the verdict. In addition to compensation for non-pecuniary damage, the victim demanded to recover 12,000 rubles from the Arashukovs for disability, as well as 600,000 rubles for treatment costs.

New civil lawsuits from the victims will still be filed in court.

Ex-senator Rauf Arashukov, who became one of the youngest senators, was detained at the end of January 2019 right in the meeting room of the Federation Council. Later, the Federation Council deprived him of the status of a senator.

Then his father, Raul Arashukov, was detained in St. Petersburg. The investigation considers him the creator of an organized criminal group (OCG). According to investigators, he was involved in the theft of gas from the Gazprom company in the amount of more than 30 billion rubles.

In addition, the jury considered the version of the accusation proved that Rauf Arashukov, on the instructions of his father, organized the murders of two public figures in 2010: Aslan Zhukov, a representative of the Circassian youth movement, and Fral Shebzukhov, an adviser to the President of the KChR, who interfered with the activities of the organized criminal group.

In April 2020, the investigation added three more episodes to Arashukov Jr.: we are talking about two crimes under Art. 286 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (“Exceeding official powers”) and Art. 306 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (“Knowingly false denunciation”).

Friends and relatives of the Arashukovs, who held high positions in the gas enterprises of the North Caucasus, were also taken into custody. In October 2019, the police detained the cousin of the ex-senator Beslan and the brother of his father’s wife Akhmed Kotsba, who holds the position of deputy director of the branch of Gazprom Mezhregiongaz Stavropol.

In December, the investigation detained four more defendants in a criminal case on the theft of natural gas in the North Caucasus Federal District. The detainees were metrology engineers who made changes to the metering units of industrial enterprises, whose representatives handed them money for the stolen gas.

On March 31, 2021, the official representative of the Investigative Committee (IC) of Russia, Svetlana Petrenko, announced that the investigation of the criminal case against Raul Arashukov and his son Rauf had been completed.
