Italian sports and racing car manufacturer Ferrari NV has appointed Benedetto Vinho as CEO. He will lead the company from September 1. Vigna, 52, is currently President of the European semiconductor manufacturer STMicroelectronics.

Mr Vigny’s predecessor, Luis Camilleri, who has led Ferrari since the sudden death of Sergio Marchionne in 2018, resigned as CEO in December 2020 after suffering a severe illness from COVID-19. Ferrari Chairman John Elkan said in a statement that “his deep understanding of the technology behind the changes in our industry and his proven skills in innovation, business creation and management will further strengthen Ferrari.”
