The coronavirus pandemic continued to have a serious impact on aviation in the first quarter of 2021, said Andrey Chikhanchin, Aeroflot’s deputy general director for commerce and finance. “International air traffic was carried out with significant restrictions, most of the regular network remained closed,” he said in a commentary to the reporting.
In March, Andrey Panov, Aeroflot’s deputy general director for strategy, service and marketing, reported that the restoration of passenger traffic on flights is expected in the second half of 2022 or early 2023. According to him, the domestic air transportation market after recovery will be higher than in 2019, while the international market will be lower.
