Moldova to increase gas purchases in December thanks to suppliers alternative to Gazprom

Moldova will increase gas purchases in December by 60% at the expense of suppliers alternative to the Russian Gazprom. This was announced by the chairman of the board of the gas distribution company “Moldovagaz” Vadim Cheban.

The Moldovan company intends to purchase natural gas from two sources from December 4. First, 5.7 million cubic meters of blue fuel will be supplied by Gazprom PJSC, then 3.5 million cubic meters will come from Energocom JSC.

Earlier, the Romanian company Transgaz reported that Bucharest had supplied gas through the Iasi-Ungheni-Chisinau pipeline. Deputy Prime Minister of Moldova and Andrei Spinu later announced that the country would resume purchases of electricity from the Moldavskaya GRES, owned by the Russian company Inter RAO.
