MOSCOW, November 15 – RIA Novosti. Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin got acquainted with the “digital twin” system developed at Sheremetyevo Airport, which allows predicting all key indicators of the air hub, the airport’s general director Mikhail Vasilenko told the head of government that data for such a system had been collected for about 20 years.
During a visit to the Transport of Russia forum in Moscow, Mishustin made a tour of the stands presented at the exhibition. In particular, he got acquainted with the Sheremetyevo stand, where the general director of the airport, Vasilenko, told the head of government about the company’s latest IT solutions. For example, he introduced the “digital twin” system.

Mishustin announced the increase in communication with friendly countries

“We predict each specific aircraft, all its parameters, and also whether it will fly or not. This allowed us to develop a “digital twin” system – a system that simulates the operation of runways, passenger and cargo terminals, a baggage handling system, screening equipment , all personnel and equipment,” Sergey Konyakhin, director of the Sheremetyevo Production Modeling Directorate, told Mishustin.
Vasilenko noted that data for such a project had been collected for 20 years. “This is important – forecasting all the elements, ensuring the operation of the airport … Great,” Mishustin assessed the project.
Representatives of Sheremetyevo said that the airport as a whole has developed and is developing a unique digital ecosystem for managing production processes, which can significantly improve the efficiency of resource management and optimize costs. For example, Sheremetyevo became the first airport in Russia and one of the few in the world to receive a Tier III certificate for a data center project. The new data center has increased the stability of business processes and the functioning of all key airport systems.
Mishustin asked if the management of Sheremetyevo shares its developments with other airports. Vasilenko assured that on November 16 such topics would be discussed at a round table organized by Sheremetyevo as part of the forum. The event is planned to be visited by representatives of 16 airports, the top manager noted.
