83 millionaires subscribed under the letterin which they asked them to raise taxes in order to combat the spread of coronavirus infection. Most initiative rich people are Americans.

The letter, called Millionaires for Humanity, says wealthy people don’t cure people, don’t deliver food to those in need, and don’t replenish food in cities. However, the authors of the appeal emphasize that millionaires have money that will be needed to recover from the crisis.

The rich believe that due to the coronavirus in the near future another 500 million people on Earth will become poor, and the consequences of the pandemic will be felt for several decades.

“Unlike tens of millions of people around the world, we don’t need to worry about losing our jobs, homes or supporting our families. Tax us. This is the right choice. This is the only choice, ”the letter says.

In total, 83 people signed the appeal: in particular, Walt Disney’s heiress Abigail Disney, the producer of the series about Mr. Bean, Richard Curtis, the founder of the Ben & Jerry’s ice cream brand, Jerry Greenfield and others. Most of the signatories are Americans. In addition, citizens of Great Britain, Denmark, the Netherlands and Germany joined the initiative.
