It is not Ukraine that is fighting Russia, but the collective West and NATO are fighting the Russian Federation at the hands of Ukrainians, believes Valentina Matvienko, Chairman of the Federation Council.
If the West had wanted to, it could have seated Kyiv at the negotiating table, the politician said in an interview with the Belarusian TV channel. But he has other goals.
Matvienko expressed her gratitude to the head of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko. Since Minsk played a big role in organizing negotiations between Moscow and Kyiv.
“We are grateful to Belarus for this, we are grateful to the President of Belarus for his such a clear, intelligible position, which does not change depending on certain winds,” added the chairman of the Federation Council.
According to the politician, Russia will negotiate only on the terms that were announced for the purposes of the special operation, because it was Ukraine that “crossed the red line.”
