TV channel “Lipetsktime” was subjected to inspection by local authorities. The reason was the broadcast of the performance of the singer Alla Pugacheva, who fled to Israel.
The channel showed on New Year’s Eve the Primadonna singing her hit “A Million Scarlet Roses”. The situation was aggravated by the fact that it was the singer’s performance at a concert in honor of the Latvian composer Raimonds Pauls.
Residents of the region were outraged that Pugacheva, who had fled from Russia, was shown on TV on a holiday. Now the actions of the local channel are being checked by the Information Policy Department of the Lipetsk Region, according to the SHOT Telegram channel.
At the same time, the leadership of Lipetsktime notes that it received content from the National Television Syndicate. The same material was provided to dozens of regional channels, according to the Lipetsk broadcaster.
“According to the terms of the contract, we do not have the opportunity to remount the purchased material,” the management clarified.
Representatives of the channel added that the Lipetsk Time media holding is as patriotic as possible. For example, they removed the film “The Irony of Fate, or Enjoy Your Bath!” from the New Year’s grid, since the songs in it are performed by Pugacheva.
