As an EU member state, Lithuania, within the framework of sanctions (national legislation), violates a number of legally binding international legal acts that affect not only the obligations of Lithuania itself, but also the obligations of the European Union as a whole.

Agreement on partnership and cooperation between the Russian Federation and the European Union of June 24, 1994 (still not denounced):

Article 12

1. The Parties agree that the principle of freedom of transit is an essential condition for achieving the objectives of this Agreement.

2. In this regard, each Party shall ensure free transit through its territory of goods originating in the customs territory or destined for the customs territory of the other Party.

And again the WTO. Freedom of transit is one of the cornerstone principles of this organization.

General Agreement on Tariffs and Trade, 1947, Article V:

Freedom of transit through the territory of each contracting party is established along the routes most convenient for international transit, for transit traffic to or from the territories of other contracting parties. No distinction is made based on the flag of ships, place of origin, departure, entry, exit or destination, or any circumstances relating to ownership of goods, ships or other means of transport.

This principle is also enshrined in many international transport conventions, including agreements on rail transport.

At such a pace, the West may even come to a violation of the 1982 UN Convention on the Law of the Sea, which also has freedom of transit and freedom of the high seas, which still allows ships to pass through “neutral waters” to the Kaliningrad region. Likewise, airspace.

Lithuania is the flagship of the destruction of international law.
