“Kommersant”: residents of Russia will reduce spending on purchases for the New Year


Residents of Russia are going to save before the New Year. This forecast was made by analysts.

The average check of Russian consumers in online hypermarkets will decrease by 20%. According to Kokoc Group forecasts, citizens will spend 16-17% less on household goods. Purchases of electronics and jewelry will remain stable, writes “Kommersant”.

Analysts at Infoline predicted a 12.5 percent drop in sales of non-food products in December. Consumers will spend more money on cheaper products. Other analysts note that Russians have begun to save on new clothes, entertainment, vacations and electronics.

The AlfaStrakhovanie company interviewed citizens and found out what goods they are going to save on. The lists included fireworks, outfits, delicacies and alcohol.
