According to Ukrinform, this is reported by Public.
“Products of Khmelnitsky beekeepers were exported during the war period as well. Today we have three powerful exporters, and they exported about five thousand tons of honey for about five months. This is even more than last year. They export honey to more than 50 countries of the world,” said Oleksandra Tytarchuk, head of the food safety and veterinary medicine department of the State Food and Consumer Service in Khmelnytsky region.
According to her, inspections of farmers are prohibited due to martial law in Ukraine. However, the specialists of the State Food and Consumer Service check all their products, including beekeepers, which are sold in the domestic and foreign markets for quality and safety indicators.
In 2021, Ukraine exported 57.5 thousand tons of tons of honey, which is almost a third less than last year. The largest volumes of the product were supplied to the EU countries, among which the leaders in the consumption of Ukrainian honey were Poland and Germany.
