Some Samsung smartphones supplied to Russia as part of parallel import cannot be included in Russia. This was reported by Izvestia with reference to sellers and experts in the field of subscriber equipment.

So, about 20% of phones do not work in the Russian Federation. As clarified in the support service, the problem may occur because the device must be turned on in the countries for sale in which it is intended. It is known that about 50,000 smartphones were sent to the Russian Federation through parallel imports.

“It is impossible to turn on a new device (Samsung) by inserting a SIM card from a Russian operator into it if the device is not intended for sale in the EAEU countries. The problem concerns all Samsung smartphones that are imported into the Russian Federation through parallel imports,” the source said.

To avoid problems, customers are advised to insert a SIM card from an operator in another country. At the same time, you can also unlock the device in service centers.

Earlier it was reported about the price reduction for smartphones and laptops in Russia. The main reason is the stable growth of the ruble.
