Mark Zuckerberg is globally known as Meta Company (founder), one of the first social network creators on Facebook, today he is a successful entrepreneur.
Mark Elliot Zuckerberg was born on May 14, 1984, in White Plains, New York. His parents, Karen (psychiatrist) and Edward (dentist), raised him along with his three sisters, Ariel, Randi, and Donna.
From a young age, Zuckerberg developed a passion for programming, but it wasn’t his only interest. He also studied fencing, math, and languages.
After finishing elementary school, he transferred to Phillips Exeter Academy, a prestigious school focused on programming.
He had very good innovative ability, he developed several software programs. Through which he crossed a path much better in his early days.
At 12, he built his first program, ZuckNet, a local chat system for his family. For his high school graduation project, he created Synapse, an app that could recognize users’ music preferences. Microsoft offered $2 million for this app, and a job, but Zuckerberg declined.
In 2002, he enrolled at Harvard to study psychology but continued his programming work. Along with fellow students Dustin Moskovitz and Chris Hughes, he started developing Facebook. This project captivated Zuckerberg so much that he left Harvard to fully focus on it.
In 2004, Zuckerberg launched Facebook, which quickly gained popularity. By 2009, he met Yuri Milner, owner of the venture capital fund DST Global. DST purchased 1.96% of Facebook for $200 million.
Through Facebook, he reached a major milestone, though he faced several challenges at first. However, he eventually overcame those hurdles. Over time, he kept improving his company, leading to the expansion of its divisions. Today, his company owns several key platforms like Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp, and more. Together, these companies now operate under one name—Meta.
